Corporate social responsibility

Guided by its values, IOS Geosciences strives to maintain its high standards of environmental and social responsibility and corporate governance. The company’s goal is to ensure the success of its customers while promoting the growth of society as a whole. Here are just a few examples of our ESG efforts.

Environment

  • Installation of geothermal energy–based heating of our warehouse;
  • Elimination of toxic organohalogen leachates from the heavy mineral processing protocol;
  • Management of soils regulated according to Canadian Food Inspection Agency standards.

Social

  • Flexible work–life balance policies;
  • The physical and psychological health and safety of our employees is at the heart of our corporate culture;
  • Policy on hiring Aboriginal workers and subcontractors for projects involving First Nations communities;
  • Local purchasing policy for regional worksites;
  • Contribution to the UQAC Foundation and graduate studies.

Governance

  • Compliance with the various laws and regulations governing mineral exploration;
  • Implementation of various policies in compliance with the law on the protection of confidential data.

It is also important for IOS Geosciences to remain independent of its customers to avoid any conflict of interest; therefore, IOS managers do not hold shares in any mining company. In addition, IOS and its employees do not hold any mining titles to avoid competing with our customers.
